Our Vision Tibetkids is a non-political and non-religious web site. Our goal is to promote education of the Tibetan children.

Why we care
For centuries, the Tibetan maintained their simple way of nomadic life. Their mysterious culture remain untouched due to geographical isolation. However, with the rapid development of transportation in western China, the Tibetan region is no longer remote. The nomads have to face the impact of modernization, tourism and westernization.

At the end of 1982, there were 1.11 million illiterate or semi-illiterate people in Tibet, and 1.55 million in Qinghai. The education level of the younger generation has to be improved, so that they can participate and benefit from the modern world. We believe that a more educated generation will appreciate their marvelous culture, cherish it, and preserve it against the impact of westernization.
